photoproject Million dollar hands

A tribute to masters defying time and mordern technologies through handcraft

Raketa presents “Million Dollar Hands” – a project with the photographer Kate Gerbei, honoring masters whose craft defies both time and mordern technologies. Their stories strongly relate to every watchmaker at the Raketa manufacture, as they also create wonders with their hands, literally breathing life into every mechanical watch. Significantly, the Latin etymology of “manufactura” is “manu” (by hand) and “factura” (act of making), meaning “made by hand”. The photoproject will be followed by a series of collaborations between Raketa and each of these artists that will aim to provoke and disrupt by fusing together very different creative worlds.
